The third site is Nine Mile Run, the real world of this research project. Choli Lightfoot and I collected many plant samples from the site, and Mike Falkovich helped identify them. It was a true pleasure as little by little we were able to recognize various plants. Seeing those plants again at the site, they felt like old friends. Some of them are still just names and greens to me...sorry plants, I'll be better soon! Some of them have very interesting stories and histories. Some of them are necessary for the well-being of other living things, which I would like to find out more for the next journey. Leslie Clague drew the trail map for the self-guided tour. On the trail from Commercial Avenue to Duck Hollow parking lot I placed plant names and descriptions.
