The Knotweed Project
Needs You!
When: Sunday, May 23rd at 9:00 am (unless
there is heavy rain)
Where: At the end of Allequippa St. in the Hill District
The Knotweed Project
seeks participation from individuals willing and able to get close and personal
with the plant.
* We will be harvesting and planting Japanese knotweed
(in containers) this Sunday for use in an art installation this July.
* We also seek individuals willing to care for a plant over then next month
and a half.
If you have tools you want to use on Sunday, please bring them (shovels and
gardening gloves are most useful).

Japanese knotweed plant.

The first
planting! Please join us this Sunday! We ask that you bring knotweed from
your neighborhood to plant in 5 gallon buckets. We then invite you to
take home your plant and care for it for about two months, after which-
it will become plant in the skinny building! Imagine FILLING the building
with about 100 potted knotweed plants! The plants will then grow in the
windows for about 2 months. If you have old plastic buckets, bring them!
